I’ve been craving Sushi for a very long time. To my excitement, Globefish opened up in Chinook Centre, which is a million times more convenient for me than going to Kensington. It is located outside of Chinook Centre, as there is no entrance from the inside of the shopping mall. I find the easiest way to get there would be walking through Shoppers Drug Mart downstairs, or just drive outside around the mall until I see it.
We were lucky to have visited this location with more than 2 people so we were able to order more than usual! We started with their gyoza and they make a terrific gyozas as the skin was thin, the filling was delicious and they pan fried it to perfection!
We all shared the sushi and sashimi platter which was absolutely delicious.
Then we ordered a Cherry Blossom roll which was delicious. It was a salmon and avocado roll wrapped in red tuna! It was amazing!
Even if you’re not a fan of raw seafood, they do offer great cooked rolls, and udon, and other great dishes which I’m sure will satisfy anyone’s tastebuds!

I went the other day to Thai Express for lunch. It was snowing, so I wanted something filled with spice to warm me up! I found myself standing outside the Thai Express in the Food Court of Chinook Centre to order the best Beef Tom Yum Soup I have had in a VERY long time!
The soup itself was really flavorful – spicy but flavorful (not just a bowl of spicy soup). I could see tomatoes, onions, spring onions, coriander and much more in the soup… and I could taste the fish sauce, and lemon grass used for the broth. They also gave a generous portion of beef as well. I would definitely return to Thai Express in a heart beat!

One of my favorite sit down breakfast places would be Cora’s, and we got to go to the one in the South on 130th Avenue in Calgary on March 19th, 2011. Food was great, prices was great — with large portions!!
I ordered their Raspberry 4 Lucie and I think it’s very fitting. I used to get called Lucy a lot too… well, oddly I still do. Not sure why! Anyway, this breakfast was a thin crepe filled with raspberries and custard with cream cheese! It was amazing and not too sweet at all!
The other breakfast that we ordered was their Western-Cheddar crêpomelette which was a savoury crepe with ham, onions, red and green peppers, tomatoes, green onions and Cheddar cheese, covered in hollandaise sauce, served with potatoes and toast! Told you this was a big breakfast!
Overall, it was a fantastic time here. Always expect a long wait unless you’re very early!
